Questions Every bride needs to know

Bridal Makeup By Brittany Nicole
Picture

Today is our final day of our interview with Bridal Makeup Artist Brittany Nicole. It was so much fun working with her on this specific project and the results show for themselves. Every bride can learn from these questions so enjoy!

Holly Ann: What are some questions you wish brides would ask you about makeup?

Brittany Nicole: Q) When should I book you as my MUA (make-up artist) for my Wedding?
  A) At least 4-5 months before your Wedding. I've noticed that finding a MUA isn't a huge priority like finding a hairstylist. I wish brides knew that booking your makeup artist in advance like your hairstylist is imperative. Most MUA's are freelancers and do not do makeup full-time; booking ahead gives the MUA time to request off work, its also gives you the option of doing a bridal consultation (when you can ask your MUA all the questions you may have about makeup) and lastly your MUA can go over their needs (i.e. location, the space we need for makeup application and time we need for you and each bridesmaids)

Other questions I wish brides would ask:

Do you charge for travel? Should I come with a clean face? When should we do the bridal consultation? Are you familiar with my skin type? Should I add more time for touch-ups? Do you offer a bridal package? What method of payment do you accept?

Holly Ann: What is your favorite part about working with brides on their special day?
Brittany Nicole: My favorite part would be feeling appreciated for my work! There's is nothing more gratifying then seeing my bride look into the mirror at her complete makeup look and smile!

Holly Ann: Where would you recommend brides look for makeup styles?
Brittany Nicole: I'm a self-taught MUA and I do a lot of web surfing to gain more knowledge about my craft. Check out Google, Pintrest, Instagram, Youtube and also bridal magazines and beauty blogs.

Holly Ann: What do you listen to while doing the brides makeup?
Brittany Nicole: Anything that's upbeat! Most of the time I let the bride choose what to listen to!

Holly Ann: Would you be willing to share a fun fact about yourself?
Brittany Nicole: Well, I'm a military brat! My father was in the Army; and I grew up overseas in Germany until I was 14 years old.

Brittany Nicole Interview
Today we have some more great advice on Bridal Makeup with Brittany Nicole. I love to network and so Brittany was kind enough to answer some bridal makeup questions that I had and then we worked together on two Bridal Session photoshoots. It was alot of fun for all of us. Enjoy the process through out images.

Holly Ann: How long should I plan for my makeup to be done?
Brittany Nicole : I would suggested an hour and a half.

Holly Ann:Do you also do my bridesmaids and Mother/Mother in law makeup?
Brittany Nicole :Yes I do. The entire bridal party and family members such as the Mother/Mother in law.

Holly Ann:When should I pay for the makeup?
Brittany Nicole :After you have received their services.

Holly Ann: is there an "unspoken" tip I should include or is that only for at a salon?

Brittany Nicole : You are not obligated to tip your makeup artist but it is greatly appreciated. Makeup artists are apart of the beauty industry and just like hair and nail salons, we are also providing a service. Most makeup artist are freelancing artist and do not get paid hourly or salary as if we worked at a salon. I feel if you liked the service you received, tip your makeup artist!

What Our Clients Are Saying

"Holly did a beautiful job photographing our wedding . Not only were the pictures fantastic, but so was her presence. She really becomes part of the whole day and not just the photographer. It was so wonderful to have someone so sweet to spend our special day with. Our package included a digitally created album with pictures of our own selection. When we got the album tonight we were amazed. It was absolutely beautiful and brought my husband and I right back to our special day. I not only recommend her for her terrific work, but also for her terrific personality! :)" Linsey
